Income Requirements

Updated 5 Feb 2025
Important

This document is meant to be informative only. Solaris will request the below documentation from the customer directly.

The customer MUST be the one providing their information to Solaris!

Full-Time Employees
Note

Providing TWO of the most recent payslips is the most common way to prove income.

In the event this is not available, applicants may be able to provide other documents to assist the credit process. These include:

  • Employment contract.
  • PAYG Payment Summary.
  • Notice of Assessment.
  • Letter from Employer.

Applicants must prove they have been with the same employer for 6 months continuously. Otherwise they have to prove that they have been in the same industry for 12 months.

Income derived from Overtime / Commission / Allowances will NOT be included unless a corresponding Notice of Assessment (NOA) is also provided. The NOA must show that this income has been consistently received over a long period of time.

Self Employed

Any applicant who derives their income from a business they control is deemed “self employed”.

Note

In the vast majority of deals, we will only require ONE Notice of Assessment (NOA) to proceed.

However sometimes a self employed applicant may choose to pay themselves less on purpose for tax reasons. If this is the case, the NOA will likely not show a healthy figures. We can potentially look at these applications, but it is lengthy.

In this instance in addition to the NOA, we would require:

  • TWO most recent personal tax returns.
  • TWO most recent company tax returns.
  • TWO most recent company financial statements.
Pensioners

In order to proceed we will require two recent Centrelink Statements.

Sometimes the customer only has access to a Payment Summary (this is a different document). If so, in addition the customer would need to show three months of recent bank statements that show the pension income.

Rental Income

In order to proceed we will require ANY of the below:

  • TWO of the most recent Rental Statements.
  • THREE months of recent bank statements (must show rental deposits).
Self-Funded Retirees / Investment Income
Note

Self-funded Retirees are essentially obtaining their income from an investment (superannuation), so it is considered the same as any other investment income.

In order to proceed we will require ALL of the below:

  • Investment income statement (superannuation income statement)
  • THREE months of recent bank statements (must show investment deposits).
Casuals

In order to proceed we will require ALL of the below:

  • TWO of the most recent payslips.
  • PAYG payment summary.

Applicants must prove they have been with the same employer for 12 months continuously.
